A Native of Switzerland, now a naturalized Dual Swiss-American Citizen, Silvie moved to The U.S.A. in 2007 after meeting her soon to be husband Red Young in Munich, where she had been living, performing and teaching Music as Lecturer for Music and Voice at The International Acting School Munich ISSA as well as teaching voice and piano at the classical Music School, Kubiz in Munich, Germany. She was performing with her Silvie Rider Art Duo, Starfighter, a European Jazz-Rock Band Silvie wrote the lyrics and Song melodies and BabyTalk, signed by BMG Ariola.
Education: University Bern, Swiss Jazz School, College Teacher Seminar in Thun, Switzerland, AFS- Exchange Student (American Field Service) in Annapolis, MD. U.S.A.
Silvie has performed internationally at Festivals, at Cultural Events and Jazz Clubs in Europe, France,Switzerland and The U.S.A. With her new Residence in The U.S.A. she is performing with her own Silvie Rider-Young Trio/Quartet as well as with Red Young and other Artists. Conversing and singing in multiple languages, Silvie’s recorded albums in the U.S.A. Je Te Connais and Reviens are being played worldwide as is her latest album You Must Believe In Spring, recorded with Greats of The Music World. Silvie Rider-Young with 3 Maestros Red Young (piano, Organ B3), Roscoe Beck (bass, former Leonard Cohen) and Tom Brechtlein (drums, former Chick Corea).
